Nikki Attwell has been working with the Choir for a few years as our graphics designer. Please send information to her at nattwell@telus.net 40th Anniversary Memory Booklet: In May 2007 we asked for alumni volunteers to be the contact people for BC Boys Choir’s memory booklet. We are wanting to create a memory book with photos and stories from the last 40 years. Please respond to our office or to one of the volunteers listed below: Barry & Merle Rector barmerishay@telus.net *** If you would prefer to contact these people by telephone, please call the office and we forward a telephone number. BCBC 40th Anniversary Christmas Concert – December 21, 2008 The Chan Centre is booked for our 40th Anniversary Celebration. Mark the date! All alumni are invited to participate in this event. Details will follow closer to the event! Request from Wico Bunskoek at the KdK: This is a request from Wico – hoping you will respond! A BC Boys Choir room at the KdK! “The KdK has reconstructed one of the wings of the building: the old bedroom section left from the entrance. Many small rooms there have been reshaped into 27 new ones: bigger, more luxury, more beautiful etc. When it was finished and officially opened on June 28th, the construction company gave us an artwork as a present. But it is an art work that we have to prepare and conceive ourselves: after that an artist will make it. The idea is that each room gets its own story: something about the history of KdK: groups, programs, activities, stories, surroundings, the priests who used to live here the former functions of the building, etc. One room will be a BCBC room. So I have collected lots of materials (programs, posters, CD,s, tapes, LP records, articles and critics from newspapers, pictures, etc.). Now the artist wants, according to the slogan from Mao ze Dong, something like "let 1000 flowers bloom". He would like to make a kind of "tree", with reactions from BCBC alumni who have stayed in the KdK in the past 40 years, and the question is: what did KdK mean to you? Now I know that many people used to say: "KdK is our second home". So it is better not to use that, because then we might get many similar reactions. So we ask for other reactions, in order to make a piece of art with many BCBC historical material, but as a central part: the opinion of the BCBC people about what KdK meant for them. Please send your memories to the BCBC Office and we will forward – would you please indicate if we can also use these items in our memory book.
